Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas make Masters noise in Round 2 - New York Post

The Masters leaderboard has more of a star-tilt to it after two rounds.

That’s because two big-named Americans, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, had big days. The duo shook off shaky opening rounds to get back into the mix with 36 holes to go.

Spieth, the 2015 Masters champion, shot a 4-under 68 on Friday, drawing to within two strokes of leader Justin Rose, who is 7-under par although he was even on Friday after an opening-round 65. Spieth finished strong, with a 30-foot birdie putt on 17.

Thomas, meanwhile, was even better, notching a five-under 67, to trail Spieth by one shot and Rose by three.

Another big American star, Bryson DeChambeau, also rebounded. DeChambeau responded after a dreadful 4-over 76 to shooting a 5-under 67 on Friday, and finished 1-under after two rounds.
