Retired New England Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich wanted to knock Tom Brady down a peg. Ninkovich, now an ESPN analyst, brought some context to the report that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback played through a Super Bowl with an MCL injury. In fact, Ninkovich downplayed the injury.

“To play through an MCL injury isn’t crazy. I think every football player has played through some type of injury, especially an MCL,” Ninkovich said on ESPN on Friday, adding, “Tom, playing through injury, yes, very tough. But everyone plays through injuries.”

Brady has played through his fair share, missing just 19 games during his 21-year career. He missed 15 games in 2008 due to an ACL injury and four games in 2016 due to his Deflategate suspension.

Fair? Or is he being a little harsh?
