Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a concussion in the second half of Kansas City’s AFC Divisional Round win over the Cleveland Browns following a hit from linebacker Mack Wilson.

Mahomes sustained the concussion despite not taking a blow to the head from Wilson. It did appear that Mahomes’ head hit the turf following the initial contact, but it was overall a clean hit from the Browns linebacker.

That didn’t stop Mahomes’ mother from calling out Wilson on social media, though.

In the moments after the hit that injured her son, Randi Mahomes took to Twitter and called Wilson “evil” for the tackle.

Wilson and Patrick Mahomes had a classy social-media exchange after the game, but word of Randi’s tweet made its way to Wilson. And come Monday, the Browns linebacker responded to Randi Mahomes to explain that he wasn’t a dirty player.

“I just want to win and be great like your son,” Wilson wrote.

She would later respond to Wilson’s tweet, squashing any ill feelings.

Mahomes is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol and must pass a five-step process in order to play in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Bills. If he can’t go, backup Chad Henne will start with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
