Texas QB Sam Ehlinger unavailable for second half against Colorado - Burnt Orange Nation

The Texas Longhorns will be without senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger for the remainder of the Alamo Bowl game against the Colorado Buffaloes as Ehlinger left the game due to a shoulder injury.

The senior captain was looking to win the fourth bowl game of his career before leaving the game, passing for 160 yards on 10 completions and a touchdown in the first half. Ehlinger finished out the final drive of the first half, but Casey Thompson came out for the opening drive of the second half, a two-play touchdown drive for the Longhorns.

The redshirt sophomore capped off the Longhorns’ opening drive with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Moore to give Texas a two-score lead.

Now Ehlinger will have to make a decision about his future after being unable to finish the last game of the 2020 season and, perhaps, his career.
